Introduction of 7049 Aluminum alloy block plate
The 7049 Aluminum alloy block plate was developed in 1968. On the basis of 7001 aluminum alloy, it reduces the content of alloying elements Cu and Cr, increases the ratio of Zn/Mg, and reduces the content of Fe and Si impurities. It is mainly used to produce forgings and extrusions in the T73 state. It can also produce thick and thin plates. While the strength is not lower than 7075 aluminum block, the stress corrosion crack growth rate is much lower than that of 7075-T651 aluminum blcok plate.

Application of 7049 Aluminum alloy block plate
The 7049 Aluminum alloy block plate is used to produce aircraft parts. The fatigue performance of the parts is roughly equal to that of 7075-T6 alloy, but the toughness is slightly higher.
